I launched my radio show as a one-day-a-week option on January 14, 2013. On February 1, 2013, I checked my stats for the month (listener downloads) and was mortified to see that in two weeks 81 people had listened to my programming. Subtract blood relatives and friends I had strong-armed into listening and we were probably at 30 people. Not a great ROI for a new business venture in my world.
So I got serious and I invested in training (time, energy and money) with people who I knew would help me develop this platform. It paid off. By the 90-day mark I was profitable on the financial investment I made to own my programming and was getting 10,000 downloads per month. At the six-month mark I was getting 20,000 downloads per month while continuing to make money on the programming and watching the programming generate growth in my coaching business.
At six months I decided to expand and contracted for a five-day-a-week show. Using a very specific system I refined, I was profitable on financial investment two weeks before my launch to five days a week on December 2, 2013. I was also closing in on 40,000 downloads per month and in November had seen my first six-figure sales month ever!
